Course enrolment

The course enrolment procedure for all GSLS Master’s courses is as follows (for Epidemiology see the Epidemiology website):

  1. Prerequisite knowledge and placement rules should be clearly described for each course in OSIRIS. Contact GSLS Course Information (Biomedical Sciences) or Hans Luijendijk (Biosciences) for changes.
  2. Students can register via OSIRIS Student for a course during the corresponding course registration period (see table below).
  3. When admission to a course requires additional information, e.g. a motivation letter, this must be clearly described in OSIRIS. Students will need to email the information separately to the course coordinator before the registration deadline.
  4. After the registration deadline, the course coordinator can download from OSIRIS the registration list of students that have applied. See instructions for this below ‘Register students from the waiting list’.
  5. The course coordinator determines which students are admitted to the course and sends the placement list to the administration office within two weeks after the registration deadline.

    We advise that placement is done in the following order of priority:
    1. Students from own Master’s programme for which the course is mandatory;
    2. Other students from own Master’s programme;
    3. Other GSLS students;
    4. Other students, including PhD-students.

      In case of capacity issues, it is advised to place students by lot (per category). This can be done automatically via the administration office.

  6. The administration office enters the list of accepted students in OSIRIS.
  7. Students that have been admitted to the course and do not want to participate in the course have to deregister before the deregistration deadline.
  8. Courses will be re-opened for the late enrolment period. The course coordinator determines which of the re-registered students are admitted to the course, as described above, and sends the placement list to the administration office within 1 working day after the late enrolment period.

Please note:

  • Administration offices are responsible for the course enrolment procedure. Please forward students with questions about course registration and admission to the administration office of their faculty.
  • Have few students registered for your course after the regular registration deadline? Please contact courseinformationGSLS@umcutrecht.nl (Biomedical Sciences) or courseinformationGSLS@uu.nl  (Biosciences). Together, you can decide whether to cancel the course immediately or promote it before the late enrolment period to increase the number of enrolments.
  • For other questions, contact the administration office.
